Cell Churches

"Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?" (1 Corinthians 10:16 NIV)

What is a Cell Church?

A cell church is a small group of Christians who apart from the regular Sunday services meet at homes throughout Chesterfield one evening a week and spend time in praise and worship, Bible study and sometimes social activities.

We want to get closer to the people we live amongst and to demonstrate the love of Christ to them through ourselves by serving the community in various ways.

We still run our normal Sunday services at Cross Street and attending a cell is not compulsory for anyone.

Cell Values

Cell Churches always seek to promote and honour Jesus Christ - not any person or organisation. Every member ministry. All members are asked to participate in the churches bringing and using whatever gifting they may have. The purpose of cells is to grow and multiply as a result of local witness and personal mission. As a group of people we strive to give practical and spiritual support and friendship to each other and to share our lives and resources. Cells are the church and each cell exists to fulfil the mission of Christ as set out in the Gospels. We don't exist because we believe the same thing or attend the same church but to preach the Gospel to all creation and so speed the return of Christ
